traffic light implementation using sensors

After so many years of searching I mean ah never mind how much time I spent searching for our what we call documentation.Hik.Never mind I was the one who created this what we call documentation because they’re (my groupmates)pretty drank to help me during that time. haha.

anyway our title is tenining:

and my group mates were:

Ronnie "batang mindanao" Mosende

Jim Dandy "fat daddy" Lydzustre

Maricel "baby girl man kuno siya" Nadela

Daryl "loloy the great" Sulima

Jaybenel "the rotc boy" Guzon

and this project was submitted to
miss Jovelyn Buhawe.

Vehicle detection sensors are placed along lanes C & D (main road) & lanes A & B (access road). These sensors output LOW (0) when no vehicle is present and HIGH when a vehicle is present.

The intersection traffic light is to be controlled according to the following logic:

1. The E-W traffic light will be green when both lanes C & D are occupied.

2. The E-W light will be green whenever either C or D is occupied but lanes A & B are not both occupied.

3. The N-S light will be green whenever both lanes A & B are occupied but C & D are not both occupied.

4. The N-S light will be green when either A or B is occupied while C & D are both vacant.

5. The E-W light will be green when no vehicles are present.

Using the sensors output A, B, C, D as inputs design a logic circuit to control the traffic light. There should be two outputs (N-S) & (E-W), which go high when the corresponding light is to be green. Simplify the circuit as possible. Show all steps implemented and create a miniature. Use RED and GREEN LEDs.

The over-all circuit diagram of the project including the motor for the blockade on the access road. Every time the access road is on go signal the blockade has to go up and if it have to go down when its on the red signal.

The sensors are the ones leveled as S1, S2, S3, S4, that corresponds to sensors on A, B, C, D side of the road. Those labels that starts with U corresponds to different logic gates being used from the given truth table. L1, and L2 corresponds to Green and Red of the traffic light that faces the E-W road. And the L3 and L4 also corresponds to Green and Red traffic light of the N-S road.

W

As inputs to the motor we make use from the output of the traffic light circuit. Two motors were used that is common to both end and it’s connected to the ground. When the E-W is on go the M2 or motor two will turn in clock wise. While if N-S is on go M1 will turn in counter clockwise. From the output of the circuit it is connected to a motor driver the IC with nine pins.
